North Devon's finest

The pictures above are from a fantastic exhibition currently running in Ilfracombe which features work by textile artists Sandy Campbell and Emma Cocker. They've produced a number of stunning sculptural wall hangings and paintings which incorporate materials ranging from beachcombing treasures such as driftwood and seashells through to recycled antique fabrics. Sandy’s work is inspired by the North Devon coastline and through texture, colour and light evokes its wild beauty. Emma's work thoroughly complements this, finding its inspiration on the land in the world of theatre and puppetry and provides beautiful, bold and very striking images. But hurry as it's only on until this Sunday 22 June.

The exhibition is at 17 Watermouth Road, Hele Bay, Nr. Ilfracombe, North Devon, EX34 9QY and runs from 11am until 5pm all weekend. It's a part of Art Trek 2008 and associated with the North Devon Fesitval. For more information click here.
