Book recommendation: 'Brothers-in-Law' by Henry Cecil

Roger Thursby, aged twenty-four, is called to the bar. He is young, inexperienced and his love life is complicated. He blunders his way through a succession of comic adventures including his calamitous debut at the bar. His career takes an upward turn when he is chosen to defend the caddish Alfred Greenat at the Old Bailey. Brothers in Law is the first in the series of legal comedy novels by Henry Cecil, a barrister and then a circuit judge whose real name was Henry Cecil Leon. They provide a wonderful insight into life in the law back in the 1950s and 1960s and despite their age the satirical humour is as relevant today as it was back then. It is available on amazon.
