Compensation For Motorcyclists Injured In Accidents

Brought to you by our friends at Bartletts Solicitors Limited

The high incidence rate of road traffic accidents involving motorcyclists is due to various factors, including the relatively small size and instability of motorbikes, the lack of protection they offer the rider, and the high speeds they can travel at.

Accidents in which motorcyclists are injured commonly occur when another road user does not see a motorbike approaching when overtaking, pulling out, turning or braking. This is often the result of poor visibility due to traffic congestion or adverse weather conditions.

Injured motorcyclists can also claim compensation from the relevant highway authority under the Highways Act 1980, if an accident was caused by the unsafe condition of the road and inadequate maintenance.
